Masterskill Nursing College - Training for Nurses

Today, 24th November is the last day of the training for the Masterkill Nurses at our Home. 2 months ago, as our pilot project we invited Masterskill to send some nurses to our Home to assist in taking care of our Residents. The nurses during these 2 months learn to deal with handicap and retarded patients, take their vital statistics like high blood pressure, temperature etc. and learn physiotherapy from PKIK, where some of our residents go for physiotherapy. They also spend time teaching them exercises, colouring, singing, dancing etc.

Our residents have learn many new skills and are well taken care of with these nurses. Our heartfelt thanks to all of them and we wish them all the best. Lastly, they painted a beautiful coloured mural to cheer our Home.

Sathya Sai Baba, Kajang Raya

On the 23rd Nov 2009, Sathya Sai Baba from Kajang Raya visited our Home. In conjunction with their annual charity drive, they brought along food, blankets, bedsheets, towels and other necessities for our Residents.

We wish to express our sincere appreciation for their contribution.

Madam Kuan brought a Tibetan Lama

On the 15th November 2009, our very supportive regular Donor, Madam Kuan brought along a Tibetan Lama friend to visit our Home. He came to pray for the well being of our Residents. Madam Kuan & her friends also brought along a lot of delicous home cooked food for our Residents.

Segi Subang Student Visit

On the 14th November, 5 students pursuing Diploma in Early Childhood Education visited our Home. They sang songs, dance and played games with our Residents. They brought along some cakes and sundries to donate to our Home.

Ear Waxing

Our treasurer, Ann Yap gave ear waxing treatment to our Residents. This is the third time she is doing this and also with the help of the nurses from Masterskill Nursing College.

This month, November, 4 of our Residents celebrated their birthday together. KFC lunch and birthday cake was sponsored by our Treasurer, Ann Yap. The nurses on training from Masterskill also joined in the celebration.

Our Home Profile

Our Association was started in April 2005 with the mission of helping out the old, poor, underprivileged and retarded. The present committee which is purely voluntary took over officially in September of 2006. The Committee manages the funds, maintain the premises and take care of the welfare of the Residents. During the time of the takeover, the Association was short of funds and owed a few months of rental and utilities. The Committee has to take out funds from our own pockets to keep the Association going. Thanks to our donors, we managed to get through this difficult period.
During these few years, we worked with a few other NGO’s and Associations to give better living conditions to our Residents and even manage to help other Homes which needs help by donating our excess goods to them. Some of the Associations who work closely with us and also been a source of our support are PKIK (Persatuan Rumah Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Kajang), Furry Friends Farm (Dr Dog Therapy), Kechara Soup Kitchen (Buddhist Organisation helping out the Homeless). When we have excess in terms of foodstuff and necessities, we donate them to other Homes such as Shelter Homes, Charis Drug Rehabilitation Centre , Furry Friends Farm and a Home in Puchong.

我们的团体创办于二零零五年四月份，宗旨是积极帮助老年人，贫困者和残障人士。如今的委员们是于二零零六年九月份自愿地正式上任的。委员们主要负责处理善款，维持家居环境和照顾居民们的福利。在上任期间，我们的团体曾一度面对缺乏资金的问题和欠了数个月的房租与设施费用，成员们当时必须自掏腰包以使这个团体得以继续运作下去。也很感谢善长人士的帮助，让我们成功地度过了此次的难关。.

在这数年里，们与几个非政府团体和其他的机构合作以让我们的居民拥有更佳的生活环境。另外，我们更协助其他有需要的慈善机构，例如捐出我们多余地东西予他们。当中有几个是与我们维持着良好合作关系的慈善机构，如PKIK (Persatuan Rumah Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Kajang), Furry Friends Farm (Dr Dog Therapy), Kechara Soup Kitchen (帮助无家可归者的佛教团体)。每当有多余的食物或所需的日常用品时，我们会捐给其他的慈善机构，例如 Shelter Homes, Charis Drug Rehabilitation Centre , Furry Friends Farm 和 a Home in Puchong.

APPOINTMENT OF EXTERNAL AUDITOR June 2010

For more transparency and accountability, the Committee has decided to appoint an external auditor cum tax consultant to audit the accounts of the Society so we appointed Sekhar & Tan Suite 16-8, Level 16, Wisma UOA II, No. 21 Jalan Pinang, Kuala Lumpur. as our Auditor. 委任2010的外部帐目审查员为了使透明度和义务，我们中心的委员会已决定任命外部审计师兼税务顾问进行协会帐目审计，所以我们委任Sekhar & Tan Suite 16-8, Level 16, Wisma UOA II, No. 21 Jalan Pinang, Kuala Lumpur作为我们的审查员。
